Diwali
is a “festival of lights” as name indicates. In south India Diwali is known as
Deepavali as the meaning in it Deepa – mean light, vali – in a row, may be

part they keep ready for all set to Diwali, second day is Naraka chaturdashi or
small Diwali its celebrated in both north and southern part of India and all
the places in abroad by non resident Indians, this day is where lord Krishna
had triumph over Narkasura the demon. Third day is Amavasya – it’s a day where
the people in south perform poojas to Goddess Laxmi – the Goddess of Adobe for
the prosperity. Fourth day is celebrated as Bali padyami where the legendary
story says that Lord Vishnu defeated Bali .
Fifth day – Bhai Dhuj –it’s observed in north India this is the day for the
prayers for well being between brother and sister.
